Syracuse, NY, January 8, 2008 –Syracuse Research Corporation was recently named as one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York for 2007. The New York State Society for Human Resource Management and Best Companies Group, an independent company managing Best Places to Work programs in many states around the country, formed a partnership to launch the prestigious awards program in the state of New York.

This statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in New York, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce, and businesses. The Best Companies to Work for in New York list consists of 30 companies in two groups: 15 medium-sized companies (25-250 employees) and 15 large-sized companies (251 or more employees). Syracuse Research Corporation has been named one of the Best Companies to Work for in New York in the large category.

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the 30 Best Companies to Work for in New York. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25 percent of the total evaluation. The second part of the process consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. This part of the process was worth approximately 75 percent of the total evaluation. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in New York with assistance from ModernThink LLC, who analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

Syracuse Research Corporation will be recognized and honored at the Best Companies to Work for in New York awards dinner on Thursday, April 10, at The Desmond Hotel and Conference Center in Albany, New York. The final rankings will be revealed at the ceremony.
