Syracuse, NY, June 9 – SRC (formerly Syracuse Research Corporation) has announced the promotion of Jeffery Bess (photo) to Director, Consulting Services. In this role, he will be responsible for the development, coordination, and execution of all business operations within SRC’s Consulting Services area, which supports the company’s customers within the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense in the areas of Information Operations and Information Assurance.

In this position, Bess will head all consulting services activities in the Washington, D.C. area; San Antonio, TX; Omaha, NE; Norfolk, VA; and Denver, CO. He will oversee all services delivering Information Operations, Information Assurance, and special project support services. Bess will leverage his expertise and extensive military operations/program analysis experience to consult with customers on plans, technologies, and programs within a wide array of services. Most recently, Bess was SRC’s Deputy Director, Consulting Services, and prior to that, he was the company’s Program Manager and Senior IO Planner for the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and other DoD organizations. Bess also currently serves as the senior instructor for the STO Planner’s Course for the Joint Staff and the U.S. Army, and supports STO and special IO initiatives for other Government customers. Before joining SRC in 2003, Bess held positions of increasing responsibility to include Battalion Command within the U.S. Army, before retiring after 20 years.
Bess holds a master’s degree in military art and science from the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, School of Advanced Military Studies, (Fort Leavenworth, KS), and a bachelor’s degree in political science (international relations) from the University of Arizona.
