SRCTec Celebrates Manufacture Of 40,000 CREW Duke Units

Syracuse, N.Y., May 18 – SRCTec celebrated the manufacture of 40,000 Counter Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device Electronic Warfare, or CREW Duke, systems for the U.S. Army on May 4 (photo). The company recently hosted a ceremony for employees, soldiers and Army officials at its North Syracuse, N.Y., manufacturing facility to commemorate this achievement.

The CREW Duke system counters radio controlled roadside bombs, or IEDs, and was developed to provide U.S. forces critical, life-saving protection against a wide range of threats. It is a field-deployable single-unit system that uses state-of-the-art jamming technology to counter the IED threat. The design is engineered to keep weight, size and power requirements to a minimum while providing simple operation and optimal performance. SRCTec has been providing the U.S. Army and other military services with counter IED solutions since its inception in 2006, and their products have played a critical role in reducing the number of IEDs detonated in the field. SRCTec’s CREW Duke is currently the U.S. Army’s most widely fielded CREW system; the first generation of this system, the Countermeasure Protection System, was one of the U.S. Army’s Top 10 Inventions in 2005.

“SRCTec continues to innovate and sustain counter IED programs to keep our troops safe,” stated Bob Roberts, president and CEO of SRC. “We are proud of the work we’ve accomplished together and we look forward to supporting the Army in many future endeavors.”
