Syracuse, N.Y., June 8 – SRCTec’s Environmental Management System, which aims to identify and limit the environmental impact of the company’s operations, was recently audited by ABS Quality Evaluations and found to be compliant with the requirements of ISO 14001:2004, an international standard for environmental management systems. This is the first time SRCTec has applied for and received ISO 14001 registration.
Companies seeking ISO 14001 registration must assess both the regulatory requirements affecting their business and the impact of their operations, products and services on the environment. Companies must then develop policies, procedures and objectives to control and improve their environmental performance.
“Registration to ISO 14001 demonstrates our compliance with all applicable federal, state and local laws and provides a systematic framework for continual environmental improvement, improving our operating costs and responding to emergencies” said Tom Kinsella, SRCTec’s quality assurance director.
