SRC develops data
acquisition systems for the collection and analysis of radar and
communication signals. These include systems based entirely on COTS
equipment and those combining both COTS and custom assemblies. Embedded
digital signal processing and software enable both real-time and post
collection processing of the collected data.
Our data recorders,
analyzers and other specialized data acquisition devices are developed
under a variety of architectures and technologies, including PC-PCI, VME-bus,
HP-IB, Ethernet, GPS, etc. Large, high-speed collection systems have
been designed specifically for recording large quantities of coherent,
multi-channel radar data.
SRC uses low-cost
commercial PC-PCI based platforms for many applications requiring the
capture of large amounts of data at high-speeds. Arrays of removable
disks enable continuous data collection at rates up to 100 Megabytes per
second with a total capacity in excess of 960 Gigabytes. Sampling 12-bit
A/D converters clocked at rates up to 100MHz enable IF sampling, with
digital down-conversion in FPGAs prior to data storage. Collection
systems can be provided with custom receivers and antenna systems, or
they can be integrated into an existing system. These systems are
typically packaged in a 19 inch rack mount configuration and housed in a
shock mounted transport case for shipment and use in rugged field test
environments. Rack mount keyboards and flat panel displays are
integrated into the systems for local setup, control and data analysis.
